Think you have a floppy in the drive when you are booting, please remove that or else you will have to reinstall the whole OS.

To turn off Hibernation:
Turn off hibernation
Control Panel-Screen Saver Power-Hibernate Tab-uncheck hibernation box-reboot and hiberfil.sys is no more.

To switch to the desktop, the other option is to press the Windows key and M at the same time.
