So I have around $3500.00 to spend on a laptop and everything to go with it. Anybody have some ideas of what I should look at?

Wow that power supply caculator works great. Added that one to the favorites right away ;) I put in the specs for this computer and it seemd to come in at aroud 211w-238w for the power supply so if this thing is correct i should be set.

Thanks for the tips so far guys. Ya it would be nice to just replace the computer but it isn't mine. I'm just putting this in for a buddy of mine who doesn't do to much on the computer so he just wants to upgrade for as cheap as possible. boom got it now, last time it must not have booted from the disc, the option to format and change the file structure to NTFS was there. it is now formatin, thanks again for all the help ;)

yep yep, i was expecting the option to format like you said cause i've done it that way before as well as using a MS DOS boot disc. but the option just never came. I picked the c:/ as the partion for install, and it gave me warings about installing 2 OS on one partion, then instead of the option to ...

Ya and i was sure there was an option to format the drive you where going to install the new OS too but it never gave me the option. all it did was delete the old windows file and start installing XP. Never got the option to format the c:/ so ya now i'm waiting for XP to install lol. where exactly o...

I'm formating a Toshiba laptop, Pentium III, 128 ram. I normaly use a MS DOS boot disk and jsut fdisk and format the hard drive clean then start fresh. Problem is that this laptop doesn't have an a:/ drive. SO what would be the best way to compleatly format this hard drive then install windows XP on...

i saw him post this on another site and I still love it. It's 4 images I believe, 2 of the concrete blended, fetus, and the bulb. yes i would definatly reduce the size to make it fit at least 1024x768. Most ppl hate to scroll side ways. You hade some nice photos there.

Hey guys nice board.

I was referd here by unflux and it looks like a pretty cool place.

My post may look a little funny but i'm dyslexic so i cna't really help it much.

I'm a developer from Canada so i think i'll be hanging out in Drawing and Desgin alot.
