Hey guys, Just found out the problem is occuring because the motherboard isn't detecting the SATA harddrive all the time. When it doesn't detect it, it doesn't load windows giving the "Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk problem" message. Works fine when BIOS detects it. Anyone know why ...

cheers, thanks for the reply. although i just found out the problem. had to goto device manager and under sata controller > properties, the secondary channel was somehow set to PIO mode when it should've been in UDMA mode. I've got 2 Western Digital SATA 200GB hard drives on my computer. When I used to rip DVD's (using DVD decrypter), no matter which harddrive I saved my ISO to, the speed (read rate) would be the same. I just changed the PSU and it's working fine now

Yeh it does have SP2.

Btw, it does come up in Device Manager in control panel. I guess Windows recognizes it but it doesn't show up in My computer.

ohh ok.. i'll give that a try. but isn't removing the battery the same thing as clearing cmos?
