I recommend that you forward http://www.domain.com to domain.com. This way, incoming links on both pages will give PR to the same page. An extension of this method is to forward domain.com/index.html to domain.com (or vise versa).

Yes its legal since we do not host any files and do not upload them to the thirt party websites :) That's called the "it's legal in Sweden" argument. Google the PirateBay for more info. Now I ask you: is it moral? What is the purpose of the website? You are aiding others to breach copyrig...

@murcielagossi: The site has two search boxes to encourage their use. Users rarely look at the top right of the page, and the only thing that I could put there would be an item that I have in another place as well. Leaving it blank made the page seem too sparse. @john551: I try to add content at lea...

Also, some sites have different content under different subdomains. For instance, wap.example.com is often the mobile version of a website.

I post this message as a new thread because of the major code changes to http://what-is-what.com . I hope that the Ozzu administration sees this as a new subject, as I do, as the comments in the previous thread are no longer relevant. Due to the many complaints about the lack of Internet Explorer su...

First things first, you have some unusual characters in your code. Declare a doctype and let's see the site validate. Then we'll talk about the content.

How legal is the content? And even if you could play "it's legal in Sweden", how moral is it? Other than that, the template is very nice. You have very few errors in the HTML code, you should pay some attention to them and get the site validating. Some pages already do. My favorite webmast...

Not only are you missing the DocType, you are also missing a character encoding. Fix it. The site colours are appropriate for the content, though a bit dull. The keyboard shortcuts work as expected in Firefox 2.0.0.4 on Ubuntu 7.04. I'd expect that clicking on "Viewing Set" in the text &qu...

thanks for the idea, xhyroh. The "What is" is enclosed within an H1 tag, without having the default modified. So the size that you see depends on your browser settings. What browser are you using, and what OS? Could you post a screenshot?

Thanks.

It won't get you spanked, but it won't help. Those are dynamic pages, and are given no weight by any of the major search engines. What _will_ get you spanked is if you copy that page and then post it. That said, I've seen quite a few made-for-adsense pages that are obviously SERP scrapes. I don't kn...

Yes. With Alexa, the lower the rank, the better. Like golf :)

Post Posted: July 17th, 2007, 12:49 pm

It might be because of the high Alexa rating on that site, now that I think of it. http://what-is-what.com has an Alexa rating of 268,000. Maybe a lower Alexa rating will allow for a lower PR per page.

You should know why the nofollow attribute is there.

Your idea about submitting a page of your backlinks is flawed. Two-way link exchanges are frowned upon by google.

So long as the sentance makes sense in your language, it's not spamming. No hard numbers will help you here.

I think that it's PR4, actually. My PR3 pages will not be accepted for ads, only the PR4 pages.
