I agree. If you are linking with the site having no follow tag then it is useless. You are not going to step ahead in link building but you will be wasting your time.

Google everytime wants something new. If you keep on updating your site, it will be beneficial for you. Your site will gain good ranking in Search engine. So the conclusion is that updation is good not a negative point

Blog is nothing but the online journal or newsletter where you can submit your personal views regarding anything. You can keep on updating the blog. You will find different blog sites like http://www.blogger.com, http://www.blog.co.uk etc....

I dont think there is any limit on using the keyword in meta tag. But 10 sounds quite good so go for it.

Marketing can be done thru many ways like viral marketing is one of the best way. Other like directory submission, article submission, PPc etc

Best way is to let other people know about your site. What your site is about, what are the benefits if they go for banner ad etc...... People will automatically to your site.
