It's all fixed - and I didn't have to do it!
One if the part-timers did it at night. I showed him the thread - not sure what he did.
Thanks

Z can access the C drive on X and any folder on X EXCEPT the Program Files folder. That's the one folder I need to access! I added the users on Y and Z to the user group on...

So I don't have an actual server. Got it! As long as I can do everything with peer to peer set-up.
But one more question. Win2K Pro has a Server Service that can be enabled. Does that make the computer an actual server?

At my previous job, we hired someone to set-up a small office network with a server and 5 workstations. 3 of the workstations were XP home edition and 2 were ME. The network person decided that Windows 2000 Professional was best suited for the server. Anyone know why? I'll be setting up a similar ne...

I downloaded and ran Avert's Stinger. It detected and removed the Sasser Worm. BTW, I disabled system restore as instructed.
I'm back online and AVSERVE2 is RUNNING AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
Seems like everytime I go online the worm returns.

I'm having trouble connecting a computer running Windows 98 to one running XP. There's a network card in the Win98 connected to an integrated controller in the Dell/WinXP. I've run the network wizard on both machines. Both say it was successful, but the computers don't find one another. Something te...
