Still lurking once in a while ... Sorry but I find the use of the rel="nofollow" tag on the user profile home page objectionable. Now I can understand putting it on unvetted content and sigs ... but a registered users home page too? The intent of this tag was to prevent comment spam by denying PageR...

My site is back in the index ... PR is restored
Don't know if this is a rollback or manual over-ride yet!

Yeah ... been bounced before ... but this one is different. It was not a matter of dropping in the SERPS. Everything was OK until about 1pm then POOF ... GONE right across the entire index (all data centers). I am hearing the same thing about dozens of well established, high PR, sites that just vani...

It looks like there is a definite problem at Google ... My prime site is over 7 years old ... been around longer than Google ... dropped out of the index on July 28. This site is pure white hat, has not had any changes or new links in 30 days. Has appeared in top 5 for the last few years. Now ... si...

Keyword and Google won’t really do much but it might with msn, yahoo..etc. Not sure what you mean here .... Too many keywords (increasing word density) may be seen as SPAM by Google. Too few keywords (lower word density) and it may be seen as not related. WE have tried a few experiments and Google ...

Not unless you have made major changes to your content.

Not true thanks to rel="nofollow". Yeah and I have watched all my OZZU links fade away too ... I don't really see the point since most links go through exit.cgi anyway ... But I really think it is a bit unfriendly to apply this to the home page icon also. :x Think I am going to spend a little less ...

Non-event for my sites ... a few new backlinks, most new pages now have PR .... but overall no changes to PR for any sites.
Guess I should be happy

Outgoing links do not change page rank --- that is a measure of links coming INTO the page. Pages that you link TO may receive less page rank if you increase the number of links on a page. Your ranking depends on many other factors, like keyword density ... changes could affect your ranking. If you ...

Madmonk ... seems like long time  Translation: If the page rank updated today ... how long before the SERPs change? Most people will tell you that Page Rank is already factored into search results before the toolbar gets updated. So there should not be any major changes in ranking. Others will ...

Yeah ... I get tired of saying it  *** For the New Members *** Google is an authoritative engine. It uses links to find new sites, calculate page rank, and determine search results. In fact 80% of ALL problems (related to search results) can be fixed with " quality links related to your site "....

There wasn't any positive effect. My ranking hasn't changed radically. Do not expect a RANKING change!! Why should this process, that simply tells Google how to crawl your site, change your search results? If you want your ranking to change ... add or edit your content, and get more quality links.

Sitemaps is still in beta ... my guess is that it will not have a major impact for a couple of cycles.
I am waiting to hear how quickly NEW sites are included, if you use Sitemaps to submit them.
Not really seeing a change in indexing traffic.

Despite being hard to get your site listed, it is a really good directory for your site to be listed in. It really varies by category and editor... --- Some don't a lot of requests --- or the editor works verrrry hard --- If your request falls into one of these categories you can get listed quite q...

There seems to somewhat of a misunderstanding here ... NOARCHIVE tells Google not to cache the page NOINDEX tells Google not to include the site in search results NOFOLLOW tells Google to ignore links on the page If a page is NOINDEX'd there is no way page rank can be assigned, since it is not inclu...
