Hey all,

I just installed this Wordpress theme and I don't understand how the header is stretched from the left of the screen to the right. How do you do this?

I took a look at it and it looks sophomoric. Maybe you could start off with a template and then customize it. Are you using Wordpress or any sort of CMS for your site? If not, I'd recommend Wordpress as it comes with some nice free templates and is easily customizable.

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone out there that is a solo web developer/designer could share any tips on how to make money doing this? I'd like to start my own web design company but I'm really not sure what people are doing to make money and not waste a bunch of time in the process. How are you all cha...

Hey all, I've just finished banging my head against the keyboard dealing with a CSS issue. I fixed the problem, but hoping someone could explain why this happens.. Basic Gist Tying to get table borders to show on outside of table and table cells My method was to simply define a id in an external sty...

Good points. I fell out of the loop of web design for awhile. I was working as a web developer full time back in the last 90's when tables were just how things were done. I have since gotten back into it. Now when I look at source code, most of the time designers are using divs. It was weird at firs...

I love the color scheme and layout. Excellent job. I wouldn't change a thing.

You're site is good and adequate for getting clients. However, if it were me, I would have an 'About Us' page and a 'Testimonials' page.

I agree with what most others have said about you're site.

Sure, it's good from the stand point of a web developer, and is very functional, designed and engineered well. Now, as a designer, it's just not very exciting or engaging at all. So, I would at least get some sort of photo on the banner page. Since it's a site about punjabi or India, I'd think the c...

Hello, The site looks very clean, and you use color very well. The fact that you're using the red to draw people's attention to registering is smart and effective. If it were my site, I would position the log in block on the banner somewhere. It is commonly on the top right, but not always. When I b...

Anyone have a more elegant solution for this? Maybe using Javascript or something that only CSS gurus's know about?

Post Posted: January 12th, 2009, 12:23 am

Ok, here's the solution: First, the CSS: [code]div#navigation ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style-type: none; } div#navigation a{ display: block; width: 170px; height: 40px; line-height: 36px; color:#000000; text-decoration: none; background-image: url(images/button.jpg); background-repeat:no-rep...
