There are so many distrobutions of linux out there. I'm just curious what one ppl use and what one they think is the best. Also what ones are better for certain applications?

ok this is the error message word for word: "An error occured transfering the install image to your hard drive. You are probably out of disk space." the other error i get is if i tell it to check the drives for bad sectors before installing. not sure word for word on that error message. i would have...

yeah doesn't matter which drive i use to install to even the 60gig and that is the message word for word as best i can remember. that's the general idea anyway. it makes no other suggestions besides possibly being out of disk space.

it isn't a network install although i would like to learn how to do that. it's from an iso that i downloaded from redhat and burnt to cds. the drive i'm installing to is a 4.3gig drive: 100MB /boot, 512MB swap and the rest /. i'm not installing all the packages just 2gig worth. is that too much? i w...

does no one reply in this forum? not trying to be rude maybe no one has an answer but i was just curious. even if you just have a suggestion of something to try that would be helpful

I'm trying to install rh9 on a system to use as a file server but when i get to the install part the installer says that "there was an error transferring the install image to the hdd you are probably out of disk space."
