Are you sure you have the right kernel? Like if you have a 32 bit intel processor but have an AMD64 kernel it won't boot, but I would assume it would return some sort of error message if that was so.

CJ you're full of *plum*! I've seen a picture of you, I can't remember when but it was when you posted it on this forum. If I could find my dang blasted camera I'd post my beard. I'd say I'm at about 5 inches in length, but I'm thinking about trimming it down to 1-2 inches and letting it grow back. ...

I had thought about virtualizing some servers, and at my last job we were thinking about getting into blades. But the thing I am weary about is if there is a massive hardware failure you lose everything, whereas with individual hardware if something breaks you only lose one thing. I don't think I ac...

Maybe just try hitting enter when it gets to the blinking cursor. If that doesn't work, type "boot" (without quotes) and hit enter. It appears that it is booting to the usb stick, GRUB is a boot loader often used with linux and not often used with windows. And some times grub will want you...

I was thinking gears, clocks, door knobs, the rotating thing in your microwave, the list is endless.

The invention of the wheel.

Seriously, just think of how many round things you use during the day that rotate. Those are all wheel-like in appearance and operation.

I don't have active directory, but I do want to get some sort of directory service because that would make things a hell of a lot easier, right now as it is I have a single un-privileged user acount with no password on each machine and then the administrator account. I almost wonder if mediawiki (like wikipedia) might be capable of the custom pages thing. Or you might check the various open source CMS programs like joomla too, someone might have done it already with that.

dyfrin, it sounds like you know how to push peoples buttons. Perhaps there was a reason you were searching for a loophole in their rules, vengance maybe?

Permanent living in space isn't really the goal with this though. The development of the space station and all that stuff is to practice living in a closed environment where you can't just walk down the street to the grocery store when you need something. Then when we go to the moon that will be to ...

That...is...freaking...AWESOME!

My wife keeps telling me I need to at least trim enough of my beard off to make it less scraggly. I'm 23 now, and I haven't been totally clean shaven since I was 17. In fact the last time I trimmed was on January 19th, 2008.

Now with water being on our own moon, I wouldn't be suprised if a mission gets planned to go there much quicker. The moon would be a much easier task than Mars, its right in our own back yard. Thats going to be cool. Once we get to the moon we can start practicing spending significant time on celes...

I think the safest browser is between your ears (your brain). Really, any browser including IE6 can be safe as long as you use common sense. If you are checking the ballance of your bank account but it just doens't look right, it probably isn't and you should get out asap. No browser will be totally...
