Yahoo is looking more on the on-page factors of a site.. but then again better do link building too for better results

it's really hard to figure out how their algorithm goes though the main thing for it would be links

IMO Google doesn't need Digg's technology anyway. It's possible for them to create a much better site or community like "Digg" coz they both have the money and brains

Deep linking improves your inner pages. Try to link build those pages too and you'll see satisfying results

Pages with different URLs ends up with different PR. YOu can resolve that using 301 redirect.
