If your domain registrar doesn't provide it (although most do) then if you have it hosted with a cPanel account you should be able to use the forwarding option in cPanel.

Even if you trust the host it is usually a good practive to register the domain at a third party. If it's not connected to your host you are free to switch hosts as frequently as you want and without hassle.

If you're questioning a host before you signup they are probably not the host for you. Find one that you are 100% comfortable with - there are plenty of hosts out there.

You will definately need a dedicated server to start with that kind of traffic. I reccomend you get a dedicated server and a shared server. Start by having the domain setup with the dedicated server, then when the traffic tapers down already have an account with a shared server so you can just redir...

The site looks good and I like the top image. I would suggest that you ad some more content to fill up all of the space on the front page. You atleast want the portion before the fold full. Too much white space looks like you just threw some text on and said ok done.

It can feesibly be done; it just might get pretty complicated having different pages hosted on different sites. Why don't you just get a low cost hosting package - u can get good hosting for as low as $2 a month.

Like UNFLUX said check with the host before starting anything on it. The last thing you want is to get it all setup and then come to find out that the host doesn't provide a secure firewall for the type of highly private information that your script will be working with.

1. yeah....I still use dos, for most stuff its easier than having to downlaod and install more software.

2. I used bigwebmaster's idea, but it didn't work, DOS must not be able to CHMOD.


3. Is there a good free downloadable program that u guys reccomend for ftp?

I checked with my host and the cgi that i have supports php but does not support mysqrl. Is my sqrl nessecary for a phpbb forum like this one?, and if so is there a good forum system that only requires php and not mysqrl?
