Another option you might want to look at is a semi-dedicated plan, which is shared hosting but with much fewer accounts on the server.

Avoid using the term 'hits' to describe website traffic.
It's the number of unique visitors that matters.

There's tons of article directories you couldsubmit them such as GoArticles etc, but add them on your site before you distribute them.

You need to ask your host about setting up an ip and an spf record.
