If you cannot get Redhat working you do not have a hope in hell of using FreeBSD ,sorry to rain on your parade but take my advice please.

Did you do a checksum on your iso image ? You may have got a bad download or burn ,it does happen occasionally. By you saying that 7.3 goes 9 should go for sure as it tends to support more hardware if anything.(and its not a ghetto box you are trying to install on by any means.) Many people really l...

I would say FreeBSD as far as *nix and slackware as far as linux (some people would be offended by FreeBSD and Darwin being called linux ,well cause they are not ) Linux is a kernel and Free BSD and Darwin are full os's they may have the same great grandfathers (Ken Thompson , and Dennis Ritchie) bu...
