Of course it is! That's like the basics of SEO. You can't expect to rank really well if you don't know the basics.

Manual submission for me too. It might be more tedious, but it pays off better than automated.

^ Yeah it's pretty nifty not having to download and install anything just to chat. I like that about GTalk too.

Make sure that your site is search engine friendly. Put meta tags and alt texts. Commenting on related blogs can help too. Oh and don't forget to submit to directories.

Great content. Something that is interesting to the people in your niche. If someone finds your entry on search engines, and they like it, you can expect them to link back to your site in no time.

Well another way is to hold contests...but that's link baiting.

Well it's basically just the same with or without the www.

The first page is good since a lot of people turn to the first page results when looking for something. But if you're on the 11th position, your site will be the first one people will see when they aren't satisfied with first page results (as what mit said). There are pros and cons to both ranks.

Is DMOZ still that relevant? By the time it takes them to approve our submissions, we would've had already earned a PR.

It's pretty scary to use adsense these days. You have to be extra careful otherwise, all the money you've earned will be gone just like that. I don't really see how some sites get banned even if they're within the TOS.

^ Podcasts usually works for more...entertaining sites rather than any other category. Personally, I wouldn't want to listen to a 90-minute long podcast about how to make your sites more successful. I'd rather read it.

^ Great explanation! Link farms should be avoided at all costs! You'll be considered spam too if you're in link farms.

Post Posted: March 26th, 2008, 5:42 am

Yep. You'd probably have a high page rank by the time they get to approving your submission.

Post Posted: March 26th, 2008, 5:28 am

^ And how did you achieve that?

That's a nice change. More user friendly lol :)
