Google is the best beause there are many resons among it, is that is the only one engine is truly usable, if a typo was typed i will still sugges you options and go ahead and searched on what it thought the word was meant to be.

You don't need to put the sitemap xml in your website, you can submit sitemap.xml in Google Webmaster Tool which will track all result traced by Google. It will definitely help crawling inner pages of a site faster.
