afaik it'd be nonsense if it would only accept Windows Vista. Have you tried installing XP on it already?
- No?
Please try first
- Yes?
What errors did you receive? Have you tried a total format of the OS partition and clean install of XP too?

What do you guys think of COBOL? This language has been around in the finance world for a long time already, and it still is! Couple of weeks ago I got a tour for a big insurance company, and they are still coding in COBOL. Many other companys do the same, banks for example. The reason they don't sw...

I'm afraid there's no way to do that. It is possible to overwrite all of those data on the hdd several times, making it clean that way. But there's also similar but older data on the hdd, only it might have been deleted already and thus there will be no 'link' to the data on the hdd anymore and ther...

Linux is not the best OS for gaming. Most of the games use DirectX for their graphics where Linux uses OpenGL. This does not mean that DirectX is better than OpenGL, it just means it is more used cause of 'monopoly' of Microsoft. WINE, as you are using now, is a option to play games under but it's n...

Perhaps MINIX is a good OS to play around with? (http://www.minix3.org).
Or indeed Windows 7, I've heard some good stuff about it from several people, so might be fun to see what it can do.

There are indeed, as stated in the posts above, incredible amounts of Linux distro (distributions). One can even say they are endless! There are many things to take in concern when picking your first distro. Like: - Do you want Linux, UNIX or perhaps BSD? You'll need to know a bit more of each three...

178 C is very very hot for a motherboard. Have you tried other softwares too to check the temperatures as some are better to check cpu temperatures than others and same for motherboard and all others. I don't think that cooling tabs are empty is a good sign, try to set them a at some value, 50% or s...

I agree with SB, I did not even pay alot of attention to the new Adobe products lately but still I did notice how fast they released new product versions. End of the year till CS5 comes? I think that's a bit early, but I guess it will only take a month or 3 for them to release it. Or they will give ...

I'd suggest you to scan you pc for viruses and spyware, bots etc. And have you used things like webmessengers? If you did and you possibly logged in to a malicious site with such messenger it is possible that they logged your e-mail and password and used it to send spam e-mails from it. btw, that co...

Search on google for webmessenger+download or something similar like msn php download. I saw it somewhere a month or three ago. You can download it for free yes. You will need to install a webserver first on your machine, like Apache. And if you're behind a router you need to portforward port 80 (fo...

Have you checked the MBR records of the disk and the partition table? Another thing you might try is to get a bootcd like Hiren's BootCD and check if the harddrive is not dead.

I think you can create something like that with Flash. If you create a menu like screen in Flash with some buttons in it, and once clicked on one of the buttons it can play the desired movie and once done playing the movie it will return to the main page to let you select another movie. Or you can c...

@leon008, fps should be determined on what kind of video you're making, and if it has much active things in it. If it doesn't have much moving parts that are essential to the video then it's better to cut some of the fps in order to make it smaller in size!
