In VB there it was required to check some components before using datagrid. May be some similar concept might apply here.. or as Don2007 said it can be a permission problem..

Want to add a point to this.
We may also change the width of the all the container divs and divide them in percentages. That would convert this layout from fixed layout to fluid layout.
