Get a sponge & squeeze it as hard as you can, compact it into a tiny little ball, now let it go & watch it grow, where did the mass that causes the sponge to grow come from ? Interesting comparison... at best. Comparing a simple sponge, made up of far less materials and substance ( not to m...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growing_Earth_Theory The primary objection to Expanding Earth Theory, as introduced by Professor of Geology Samuel Carey, and others, in the 1960s, centered around the lack of a process by which the Earth's mass could increase. This issue, along with the rise of the theo...

If I may interject here... Saddam certainly was responsible for some terrible things - but our government has done even worse, especially on foreign lands - both past and present. We were responsible for helping Saddam support his agenda concerning the people of Iraq - even if indirectily - arming h...

I'm routing for my Wings.. but San Jose looks pretty strong, interesting they aren't mentioned along with Ottawa in this poll. I can see Buffalo and Anaheim going far - they're deep enough for the journey, but talented enough? We'll have to see. This game I'm watching now (Anaheim vs Vancouver at Va...

That is so, so wrong. Every species is meant to be governed and live by some sort of law in order to keep order. If you believe in the bible, then you know, things are to be done here as they are in the, "Kingdom of Heaven." But, if you don't believe in the bible, then look around at ever...

Trying to figure out a way I can change the opacity of the border around a column. Any ideas? #content { float: left; color: #333; background: #fff; border: 15px; padding: 10px; height: 350px; width: 600px; display: inline; } Thats the particular piece of code that needs that 15px border to be trans...

Some people just don't understand... they assume that they are right no matter what evidence is given to them. You may say the same about me, but following God is a decision that I made after looking into it, not because I just wanted to take one side no matter what. What evidence has been presente...

When He comes back you can get DNA from Him, but right now you can't because He isn't here. Jesus's body isn't rotting in some tomb somewhere. Jesus is alive. over 500 people saw Him alive after His execution. So how can you get DNA from bones that are not on this Earth? Theres even more of a numbe...

Last time I checked I was the one encouraging free thought and discussion surrounding the aforementioned subject matter. If I didn't do it in way you would deem appropriate, then I do actually take that as a compliment. I think one should take any opportunity if it presents itself to take time to di...

Ambiguous comments which elude to vacuous reasoning doesn't help anyone define, understand or explain anything. I can only point it out, your own abilities are the only thing that can prevent advancement. Our abilities (mine and yours), especially those that search for answers and solve problems whi...

"what it is", can never be completely explained, since whenever somthing is comprehended, there exists a space outside of that comprehension for the idea to exist. You haven't really said anything though. You've just set the bar of understanding intentionally out of our reach presuming no...

God, the creator of science. Science is gods way of showing us how things work according to his will and to isolate his miracles when things happen without a scientific explanation, i.e, can't have fire without oxygen, but the stars still manage to shine. And while on the topic of science, the bibl...

Thats a good metaphor, Thayk - I have heard other variations of this, as ATNO has just pointed out, Hindu texts also have such a parable, but this particularly worded metaphor, given today's current level of understanding, has a more practical level of interpretation, in my opinion. Well said.

Science tries to decipher the obvious. Religion tries to explain the obvious. Yes they are the same. Any scientist would be embarrassed to hear such a comparison, even those who consider themselves a theist. What rigorous study of the real, natural world does religion offer? What tangible truths of...
