Taskpanel icon says I am connected to the Internet (local and Internet). The connection says it is excellent, but I can't browse the web and command prompt can't ping Google.
This happens all the time.
Any ideas?

I don't mean to be rude at all, but I think it would be best to ask Truecrypt questions on the Truecrypt message board where you'll find forums dedicated to Truecrypt alone. Your thread won't be in a jungle of non-Truecrypt related topics over there, and people should be more familiar with the probl...

OS: Windows XP SP2. Soundcard: C-media 8738. When I return from hibernation, I get no sound. An audio file (e.g., MP3) will play, but there is no sound. Yes, of course, I've checked off the basics: audio is not muted, drivers are valid, etc. Any ideas? Ignore the following (it's just for search engi...

This topic is somewhat moot now because I bought a sound card. My problem must have been a hardware one because this new sound card works perfectly fine.

Background: The sound was working perfectly fine up until something unknown happened. The volume wasn't high enough for my taste despite volume being set to highest, so I plugged in an external speaker. Nothing bad happened. After unplugging it, sound stopped altogether (now, sound won't play throug...

I am not trying to add anything greater in size than the CD can handle. The CD can handle up to 700MB.

I don't know what it is, but I can't burn ISOs the size of Linux Distribution Live CDs (between 600-700MB), although I can burn, say, GParted (which comes in an ISO, about 30MB) very well. I believe the drive can also burn music and whatever, but none of that matters. It will never succeed with Dist...

If you sell off the parts individually you'll probably make more money That's if you have a really hot laptop (e.g. Sony Viao). I have a simple Inspiron 1200 that most people have no desire for. Would it not be cheaper to have it properly repaired? In most cases, no. Just something I quickly found ...

I'd like advise from ya'all on this, if possible. A while back, the backlight on my Dell Inspiron 1200 gave out. I couldn't find a suitable inverter (which I suspect is the problem) to replace the "broken" one, and now I don't know what to do. Should I buy a new laptop (possibly another Inspiron 120...

Yesterday, I was using my Dell Inspiron 1200, when all of a sudden, the laptop went out. I later found out that the problem lied in the backlight. I concluded it was the backlight because the laptop would work when it was connected to an external monitor. In addition to that, updating and resetting ...

Someone re-installed Windows 98 because of a virus, and I just installed XP on top of that. In other words, I didn't have to uninstall the SQL server.

I am checking out Windows Components, but I don't see MSQL Server there. There are several items listed, and I couldn't find it under any of them either.
