So I built a gaming PC for this guy about 2 years ago. He had a 500GB Seagate drive. He recently brought it in for an unrelated problem with the sound card and when I booted it up I got the S.M.A.R.T error saying the drive was about to fail. So, he wanted a 10,000 rpm drive. So I got him a 150GB Vel...

What has always 'piqued' my interest was how they utilized that cluster. I saw something off of Engadget, where a guy took a rack of 5 PC's with a bunch of SLI'd video cards and played Crysis with it as a cluster. How do you go about doing that? How does Windows XP or Vista even utilize that asymmet...

You have too many primary partitions on that drive. You need to set-up an extended partition with multiple logical partitions inside of that.

Most modern CPU's have a thermal limit of 80 degrees Centigrade or 176 degrees Fahrenheit. If you give me the exact model CPU, I can find the exact temperature range it should be in. However, usually want to stick under 65C.

HoustonIT is correct: Dell's have issues with their recovery from standby. Check for BIOS updates, Firmware updates and driver updates and see if that resolves your issue.

IDE or SATA? If it's IDE, it may be a problem with your IDE channel drivers. Update/Reinstall them. Alternatively, you could have a registry issue. Please see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 (microsoft.com) for a known issue with Windows XP and follow its directions. If all else fails, your d...

Who makes the 5.1 system? Check all the connections. As for the static and you are connected via analog cables (not toslink coax or fiber) then your sound ports are grounding to the case or you have bad wires/loose connection. Also, make sure your PC and your sound system are plugged into a grounded...

Most likely a loose connection on the motherboard, bad motherboard or bad battery. If its still under warranty, send it back for repairs. If you had the motherboard replaced less than a year ago, the replacement may still be under warranty.

I would send it back.

All that may be true but Mac sales people are slanting the information and people like the original poster and a woman I know both recently bought a Mac under false pretenses. Don, That is pretty much all sales people. Actually, that's all marketing in general. Now, you shouldn't feel bitter. There...

As both a Mac and PC user I feel dutifully obligated to weight in. #1.) Security - Windows XP/Vista: Windows is insecure without 3rd party programs like anti-virus, anti-malware software and a good dosing of common sense. - Mac OS X: Mac OS X is much more secure out of the box. While it is true that...
