Maybe wrong fourm, or maybe just a dumb question ....

When formatting text using BBCode, how can you make a piece of text
already formatted as "code" have a different colour?

I have wanted to do this several times to highlight a specific piece of
code within a big block of code-formatted text... but it never works for me.

It usually ends up like this:

Code: [ Select ]
<div id="test">just a test [color=orange]hfhfsb[/color]</div>

I know it is possible, because I have seen it here at Ozzu.

Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Thanks in advance.

What you see is probably something besides the code tag, such as the [ php ] bbtag, which auto provides the coloring. I don't think you can change your own colors in a code chunk.
I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

Nope, definately the [code] tag ..... 97.5% sure of that.

I will rummage around the archives at some point and look for an example.

You got me wondering now ....

Can't find an example.

It was on quite a few old posts from way back.

Maybe some phpBB thingy has been disabled since then?

The whole idea of the [code] tag is to not parse anything within the tags. Therefore, I really doubt there is a way to add any formatting inside them.

We disabled HTML here about a year ago for security reasons. Probably why you aren't seeing it anymore.
