Wow, I didnt realize my comment would spark such a reaction! I guess its good to let some ideas and frustration out though.

Bigwebmaster, I wanted to quickly address something you brought up about focus. In fact this is more of a suggestion. In possibly my most favourite thread here, Website Reviews, I've noticed a slight trend of people just posting their sites for review simply to get their name out, i.e. spam. Most recently these 2 come to mind:
[Dead Link]
The first guy hasnt adressed a single ounce of feedback, the second, obviously just wants his domain name plastered on the net. There are a few others that I recall as well. Good mod judgement of course is the key, but I've become reluctant to review "new members" threads simply because of threads like that. The ideal solution would be to only allow "established" members to ask for reviews, but that might be a little too unrealistic.

And again, regarding the General forum, if you scroll through the topics available, there's not too many that spawn intellectual thought. Not to criticize anyone, but most discussion seem to childish to participate in. I just fondly recall the days of all the fun posters (Miss_Bee, meman, Darkermoon, Dubya etc etc...) always sparking my interest with topics and comments, now it seems like those type of posters are far and few between. Take nothing away from the members who are participating, but its just not the same. Granted that Ozzu's focus is on web design, but it would still be nice to let down your guard and participate in good ol' fashion fun and games, which I think is somewhat lost all of a sudden. And like everyone's saying, something thats probably seasonal. Just some added 2 cents on the situation.

Wow it IS quiet here. Maybe I'm just dragging myself away from work more? but I've had to succumb and go to the posting games forum for a bit of amusement [hangs]head in shame[/hangs]

Actually this 'lull' has made me more determined to get aroudn top some of the things I have put on the back burner for a while. Watch out for me in the Programming Forum in the coming days 8) (or not if I am smarter than i think!)

Nope, it's just you man. I don't let any of that kinda riff-raff on my forums ;)

Hehe. Seriously though, I've only been looking really in the coding and graphics forums recently, but the quality of the posts (in those forums at least), and the style of user has definitely changed over the past year or so. I'm not saying it's any better or worse (that's all a matter of opinion), just... different. :)

Some of the older faces have left, and newer ones have replaced them with new ideas, new attitudes, etc.

I agree very much with Daremedy. I've only been here for about, 3-4 months, yet there is still something that is needed to spice this website up...
