Any reason for Emoticons in quotations not displaying?

example: post544887.html#p544887

I feel i should add here that i am using the dark theme. It may display okay in the light theme, i haven't checked.

Doesn't work for me either - I'm using the light theme. I noticed that the smilies are displayed in quote, and it's weird that this one doesn't.

The original purpose was for people to test sigs to see what they would look like and also to get familiar with the posting form for newcomers not familiar with this type of forum posting, i.e using bbcode, emoticons etc. Not everyone is an experienced forum poster and not everyone is familiar with phpbb. Bigweb, Joe and I still use it from time to time for testing board glitches.
