I'm getting a lot of, 'does not exist' when selecting something
to get back to the general Forum Index page.

why not make it the first in the list,
click go, to actually go there.

also ... noticed that it reads "Webmaster Forum Forum Index"

2 x using word = 'Forum'

I will look into that Steen. The script automatically appends "Forum Index" on the end of the site title. My site Title is Webmaster Forum, so when you add the rest, well you see what you get. Normally a forum might be called something like simply:

Ozzu

then with the appended text that link would actually say "Ozzu Forum Index" which would make more sense. Anyway thanks for pointing that out, I will change it.

yeah that would be a nice little change actually. good point.

I never noticed myself, but click that link a lot to go back to the index.
But if one of us doesn't find it obvious, then there's bound to be others.

Can you verify something for me Steen. On that pull down menu when you select a new topic it is supposed to redirect right away for you to the right place without you hitting go, and for me that works fine. But I did just notice that if I move quick enough and hit the GO button that is when I get that error you were talking about "Forum does not exist".

Anyway I take it that it does not redirect for you and you are forced to hit GO right?

no that part works just fine,
but yes, I end up clicking the 'GO' somethings anyhow aswell.

and yes, you are right, it's then I get the 'does not exist'
because I choose a header rather then an actual form.

which it wouldn't goto automaticly on select as it doesn't exist.

and then when I look at it all, I can *not* see how to select
to get back to the main index forum in order to see all the
available topics.

Okay I figured out exactly why you get the forum does not exist. I think you are selecting the part above the

----------------------

in the pull down which is just the general area, not an actual forum (thus it does not exist). I am wondering how else I might do this.

Also it will not redirect right now automatically when you click on one of the general areas, since they are not actual forums. Maybe if I got rid of the GO button that would prevent people from clicking on one of those. I might be able to make it look more like titles in the pull down menu too so that people are less confused. Anyway any ideas on how to make it more understandable would be great. I will try to figure something out.

yeah cuz it's my dumbass actions that thinking I need to select
'General Topics' to get back to the main page to browse
the entire list of forums again.

getting back to the main index of the webmaster forum
is only possible by using the larger link at the very top of each thread.

just when you are that far deep down in a thread,
I'm looking to use the pulldown menu to get back to the main index
to see other forums.

odd huh ?

maybe on the headers make it go back to the main index.
that would solve it.

perhaps it's just me ...

just realized something else,

try going back to the index.

click the white link on any header.
http://www.ozzu.com/index.php?c=3

it colapses for what ever you selected.

you could have the headers point to those on selection.

so - selecting 'General Topics' from the pulldown menu
would goto: http://www.ozzu.com/index.php?c=3

likewise with all the others.

and then perhaps at the very top have the main index as a selection.

funny ...

the very first option, ( the default one )
'Select a Forum' should perhaps go back to index.php if GO is clicked ?

I'm just thinking out loud here ...

No you're right.

it was whenever I finished reading a thread,
I would then simply hit go, as it already
defaulted to 'General Discussions'

my bad ...

doesn't go to the 'Webmaster Forum' index as we previously discussed.
