I can't belive there isn't one already.
I usually end up posting in the Windows forums even though they are not specific to Windows :(
Sometimes they are Windows specific issues, sometimes Linux, and sometimes its hardware or protocols. There is a lot of coding and programming involved too, especially if running servers.
Please?

If not a networking catagory or sub-catagory, how about one for protocols atleast? :D

True. But where would you post a question when a network of 60+ computers can't load any web pages, but they can Instant Message?
Most are running Windows but some are Linux and are having the same issue.
It's a protocol problem I belive. (This is currently happening to my network)

I can continue posting in other forums.
It just doesn't feel like there is a place for network administrators to call "home" I guess :P

Welcome to the club. I AM a network administrator, and wouldn't mind a dedicated networking dedicated forum. However, this has been asked before and the answer was pretty much what cowkiller described. It most likely won't ever happen since the overall purpose of OZZU is to support web design. Addressing networking issues is not primarily what we are about.

Where is the post about your current problem? I'll take a look at it and see if I have any ideas.

I ended up not posting my current problem because I'm still working it with service provider. Thanks though ATNO/TW. :D

5N4K3, this has happened to my house before, it turned out that the DNS was setup wrong . It seems that the AIM connection is much stronger than everything else.

I know this isn't a discussion forum, but I'll post this I suppose.

Our entire network wouldn't load web pages but could Instant message. (Instant Messaging = less bandwidth usage than loading pages)
Anyways my ISP scanned my network and found one of our computers was blasting out "Huge amounts of ICMP traffic". They gave me the IP address, I unplugged it and the rest of the network is running smooth again.
I didn't find the reason it was sending so much traffic though. Just baselined it and put it back on the network.

It most likely had a trojan or dialer or something bad. Glad you worked it out.
