Hey,

Is it possible to get a reputation mod like those on invisionboard etc, where if you post a really good comment, people are able to increase your rep ?

Thought that might be a good way of showing how useful you are etc.

Just a thought.

Aye, something like that would do the job.

Main reason I suggested it is because although we have post counts, and the more we post, the higher our "Rank" becomes, our rank is not always a good judgment of how useful people are [ not saying people are usless, just some people are more useful in certain areas ... im sure you see where im going with that ].

So I thought a reputation counter might be handy in that sense.

updating phpbb becomes a pita when there is 580520852 mods, so consider which to use.

I have implemented a "field of study" type thing in peoples profiles. That is then displayed on viewtopic under their avatar, where on this forum Joined and Location are.

Like:

Flash8
ASP

I like rating though, something about ego's kinda scares me tho

Hmmm, I wasn't thinking of it as an ego booster, more a guide as to how useful someone is.

I have found a flaw though in my idea ... the ratings would be the same in Web Development as it is in ... err ... cookery, yet that person might be total balls at Web Development.

So it kinda defeats the point of having it as a guide to how useful someone is at certain subjects.

A better plan would be to have additional ranks ?

i looked up the meanning of what AoI was and this is what ATNO/TW said

"AoI members are part of our Accuracy of Information team. They have been invited to the AoI because of the quality of information they provide. They also work to maintain that information provided by others is also accurate."

Nice

Shame Ozzu doesnt filter that sort of ranking out more, but nevermind. It was just a thought.
