Personally I have no interest in tkc. I'd rather see OZZU support distributive processing that could benefit humanity, so tkc is out in my book.

I think we should, instead, form a non-profit collecive that does pro-bono work for small non-religious (to be fair) charity organizations around the world. Maybe take on a single project a year even... rebuild a crappy website with all the latest gizmos... that sort of thing. Give small charities a web presence.

The important thing would be it's pro bono. that is. NO FEE. Of course... also, no on going support... one time deal. Unless they want to hire one of us (or one of our respective companies... or whatever) to to ongoing work. That would be between them and whoever wants to bid for the job, but the initial work would be collective and free for them.

That, in my opinion, would be a worthwile cause.

Just an update on this....Bigwebmaster has read this thread and will reply when he has time. I've also presented it to the mods for discussion. On a personal level, I like this suggestion, and although I'd personally prefer f@h I'll go with whatever is decided even if it is not to go with the suggestion.

Ozzu is a trademaked name.

at least... theres a TM next to it... whether it's ACTUALLY been legally trademarked, I don't know (that is a rather lengthly processes), but nevertheless it wouldn't be very cool of you.

*EDIT: a search for Ozzu on the USPTO site didn't turn up any results...
Anyway, just come up with your own name.

respect for Bigwebmaster, and the people who work so hard to maintain these forums is really the only thing preventing anyone from going and starting a team...

You guys are welcome to organize an ozzu distributed computing team. I do not think this deserves its own forum on ozzu, but there can definetely be an official post on it somewhere on the board here (maybe hardware section) which is made a sticky.
