Remember how threads in Questionables had the line-through style applied to topic titles when browsing unread posts and whatnot ?

I think that would come in handy for soft-deleted topics.

I thought there were lines going through them already?

Now that we're on this topic, could we possibly set something up so that soft-deleted posts within a topic get collapsed to one line with the "Post soft-deleted by..." text and an option to expand it?

I think that is a good idea, will work on this eventually.

Through the post body itself, yeah. When you're looking at the Unread Posts listing though, the thread title appears in that listing as normal, not with <del/> wrapped around it like it was with Questionables.

At least I don't think it does. I don't remember seeing any with lines through them lately. I clicked through an obvious spam post with the intention of deleting it only to see it had already been deleted right before I brought the subject up. I guess there's the chance I just happened to click through right after someone else deleted it.

Anyone want to create a new thread in the Test forum, let it get deleted, then mention which thread it is here ?
I can double check.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

For me with my unread post listing in IE8 if a thread is soft deleted there are diagonal lines through the row. Does this not work correctly with Opera?

Definitely going to have to have someone create/delete a thread in the Test forum so I can see it.

I can see the diaginal lines going through posts themselves, but I didn't notice any going through the unread posts listing. Maybe I just didn't notice them.

Remember on any post you can always hit the "mark post as unread" which is right next to the delete icon. So technically you didn't need someone to do this for you, however, I did create a thread in the test forum and then deleted it. Let me know what you see.

Ah I forgot about the unread posts button.

I didn't see the thread you created in the Test forum, but I did do this.

I created a thread in there, I marked it unread, then I went to the MCP for the forum to delete the thread via the MCP forum listing instead of within the thread itself.

The indexes new posts icon didn't signal any new posts.
I did see the diagnal lines in the background this time.
I looked at the HTML, then added the following to my user.css because I like the actual line-through style personally. :)

Code: [ Select ]
.softdeleted
{
    text-decoration: line-through !important;
}
  1. .softdeleted
  2. {
  3.     text-decoration: line-through !important;
  4. }
