Soft delete

Soft delete should be visible only to the moderators, admin, and the poster who posted the post which is soft-deleted... otherwise the only function soft-delete carries is drawing slanted, vertical lines on the post, reducing post count, and adding text at the bottom that the post was soft-deleted... The actual post is still viewable to everybody like a regular post... no use at all.

Bigwebmaster will definitely confirm once he sees this, but that sounds like a plausible explaination to me.

That is correct, it is because you are on the website review team and have access to deleting posts there. It should only do that for you in that forum, no others.

Forum or topic? If I'm the starter of the topic then I can delete the soft-deleted things? Or are you saying, only in that forum should I see soft-deleted posts?

You make it sound like I'm the only one who is able to view soft-deleted posts.

Only in that forum category you should see soft deleted posts in topics.

Now that we're on this topic, could we possibly set something up so that soft-deleted posts within a topic get collapsed to one line with the "Post soft-deleted by..." text and an option to expand it?

Remember how threads in Questionables had the line-through style applied to topic titles when browsing unread posts and whatnot ?

I think that would come in handy for soft-deleted topics.
