I believe only Bigweb or Supermods can change usernames. Changing your password will always deactivate your account here until you click the activation link in your email. It's a security measure.

I remember changing my email address, and it sent the reactivation link to my new email address... what sort of a security measure is that? shouldnt it sent it to my old one first?

No, i would imagine by updating the email address in your profile it in effect will be removing the old one from the database that runs the site and replaces it with the new one you put in.

It wouldnt be possible for you to get an email in the previous email address unless of course it changed the email address and all of the other information AFTER it was reactivated. I dont believe phpBB runs that kind of system, not entirely sure on how easy it would be to change that if needed.

Why would it send it to your old one? That would be a bad security issue. ;)

I don't get why accounts become deactivated on email change.
