Now that Yahoo is once again competative with its' own database ...

and MSN plans to create its' own unique Search Engine ...

why not seperate sub-Forums for those two :?:

yea, yahoo has almost the same # of searchers as Google. Only about 5% difference. Need a place to learn more about Yahoo optimization.

If you ignore them long enough they'll just go away. ;)

Ummm...maybe that's because Yahoo used Googles' results for the last year or so?

Here's the answer to your question on staying up on search engines:

OZZU's search engine boards not withstanding...

I get the feeling you may want to check this one out from time-to-time: http://seoguy.com/

btw -search-engines-web, you have a runtime error on line 137 in your code. Thought you might want to know about that in case you missed it.

I'd also be interested in where this statistic came from...

I know Yahoo is not that close to Google yet. But he does have a point with Yahoo and MSN. They are a bit different to optimize for, but it should be able to be taken care of in the Search Engine forums.

I would actually like to see a Pay Per Click forum for all the questions about adwords, adsense, Overture, and the others.

 Keyword frequency
 Keyword frequency
 Keyword frequency

is the key to them both - they are using the Inktomi Database

Titles and Keywords in hypertext-backwards links round out their algorithms

they also are using a Web page's Meta Keyword and Description tags as well as ALT tags in minor ways

I do not totally believe in keyword frequency, especially when different sites have very different percentages and still are at the top of the listings. I wouldn't spend to much time on it. But yes, Yahoo and MSN are more on-page content where as Google is more into off-page content.
