Access Forbidden

Access Forbidden

Ok, i just come back to the computer, try to enter my website and i get this:

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Any ideas how to fix this ?


I have removed apache and re-emerged it and still no luck.

Ah it seems to be that it somehow took permissions away.
I did #chmod -R htdocs and it worked...
but it wont seem to write to it.

how do i give all permissions to the folder?

By "all permissions" you mean read, write and execute to all three levels of user?

Wow. That is a remarkably bad idea.

However, chmod -R 777 <foldername> will do just that.

Ok after reading some more on it
4 is read 2 is write and 1 is exec correct?
4+2+1 = full privileges

For each number is for each group. First = owner 2nd = group 3rd = everybody.

So 774 would do the trick right?

I did chmod -R 774 htdocs but when i try to do the xoops.org installation:
