ATI Radeon Sapphire X1650 on Ubuntu 7.10

My new computer has Radeon Sapphire X1650 and im about to install Ubuntu 7.10.

I know linux machines work best with GeForce Cards... but where can i aquire good linux drivers for my X1650 ?

And check the ATI site, if I remember right they have linux drivers available to download with a complete README file.

the official ati drivers give better performance.
the site i linked lists steps for both installing the prepackaged drivers and the drivers provided on ati's website, but both are the official ati drivers. livna has simply made installing the drivers easy >.<

and now i require further assistance... lol the install says to use a certain code for Ubuntu 7.10 installs.... but it doesnt work O.o
