I just updated the freeware thread, and I was thinking about making another category for Linux apps.

I only know of a handful of apps, and hardly enough for a category ATM, but I'm sure some of you guys know of some great ones.

Also, I understand that there are alot of apps that offer both Windows, and Linux versions, I would appreciate it if you post the page where the Linux versions are available for download.

Thanks.......

What freeware thread?

You'll have one heck of a time trying to keep track of all of the free applicatons available for linux. Check out sourceforge.net, freshmeat.net, icewalkers.com and linux.org to name a few sites that do just this.

As to cross-platform, anything that says it's written completely in Java will run on Linux, Windows and Mac. Also, anything saying it's written using qt libraries has a good chance of the same. I tend to stay away from Java-based applications myself (they run too slow, use too much memory, and so on), see here for the short list of qt-based apps: http://www.trolltech.com/developer/down ... plications

Also, the MySQL Control Center, which is also qt based - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysqlcc/
