I have a small dilema, I downloaded an img file from a linux distro site and it's massive, like 6gb and will only be burnt to a DVD+R, I can only write DVD-R's... I was wondering if there was a way to boot from a floppy disk which could then load the img file from an external source, a HDD for example.

If you've got any ideas I'd like to hear them... But I'm not reeaaally in the mood for buying another DVD writer... Ta! :D

Ok, I'm really annoyed now... I just found a program that you boot up into and you can put an image onto an HD from an img file. Poof, done. But no. The *plum* hard drive's I've got lying around are all 6gb's... too small for what I need. By 30mb...

Going slightly crazy here... Going to try the network approach...

Also, I am PRAYING that if I put compression on the HD, it might work... *crosses fingers*

Well of course it didn't work... I realized I had an old thinkpad in my shed, so I dug that out, now I can't find my IDE connector for it... Frustrated again..
