Building a switch instead of pc router

Is there any way how to build a pc switch? how? is it possible?

I've never heard of one. I never liked the idea of using a PC for a router anyway, so I certainly wouldn't want it for a switch either.

Much easier and cheaper to go and just purchase a good router, even if you're only going to use it as a switch.
