Hi i have a problem, don't knwo what's wrong but when i execute the following

[root@localhost ~]# /sbin/service mysqld start
Initializing MySQL database: Neither host 'localhost.localdomain' nor 'localhost' could be looked up with
/usr/bin/resolveip
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname.
If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script with
the --force option
[FAILED]
it failed, what is wrong, i didn't edit localhost or anything

Hi biruru,

You try like it that enter your hostname as well as ipadders in /etc/hosts file.

open vi /etc/hosts
enter the line i.e.
(ipaddress) (hostsname of your machine)
and save & exit .
now try it .
OK
