I type in the loopback address for the apache server that Im on and it keeps saying that it failed to connect/timed out. I have also tried http://192.168.1.11 (im on my own private network) and that is the address for the machine that Im on.

I know I have got it up and running because the funny thing is I can get the default apache page to show up (the please contact the administrato page) when I try and connect to the server from another computer from my network; the http://192.168.1.10 computer to be more precise.

Its not too big of a deal but I just want everything to be just right smile.gif

Have you looked at the logs? Is it starting properly?
If it were actually built properly, the intial site you would see is a "Congratulations and Welcome to Apache" screen -- not contact the admin.

Check the logs, check your configs. Report back.

cool I got it to work but I dont know what I did...Im following a book on how to set this stuff up (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... 35-9760921) and I guess I must have followed the directions right lol.

Now the problem is that when I make changes to the page they only update locally and not on any other computer. I think I know whats causeing that though. I did make the changes as root so my guess is that the other computers dont have the right permissions to see the updates.
