Compiling Src

Iv been trying to compile the src code to a Godwars mud for a coupl days now, I am getting no where, I have tryed make/makefile/./configure, but shrug... Can I get some help please. :) Thanks

what distro are you using?

why don't you use a precompiled package?

um your supposed to ./configure before you make.
it would also help telling us what exactly happens when you try to type in these commands.

the general procedure is:

./configure
make
make install

dont you usually need root privileges to do a make install?

Usually, yes. However, your account may be such that you don't have to be root to do this or the package may indeed not require it (I've seen some, though I can't think of any off the top of my head).
