i just started getting this error, when trying to edit (vi) files on my system, i do not know how to look at memory / disk space. Any ideas or commands i should use to investigate this?

Type this command in your shell to see how much disk space you are using and have left on your linx partitions:

df

Looks like your partition that /var is under has no space left. Maybe delete some log files in the /var/log/ directory or the /var/log/httpd directory if those exist. You can also use this command to figure out what is taking up all the space in the /var directory:

du -sk * | sort -n

Make sure you are currently residing in the /var directory or directory that you want to check what is taking up so much space in. That command above will sort it as well showing which ones take the most to which ones take up the least space.
