does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Gentoo linux book. That teaches you how to isntall/configure/optimize a gentoo linux OS...

http://www.gentoo.org they have a gentoo installation handbook and all sorts of info there.

for the instllation though i found that even though you follow the handbook word for word i did encounter some problems. had to deal with them on my own. also be prepared to spend a few hours just to get the core stuff installed no fancy gui or nothin and incase you dont already know the installation is completely command based. your going to want to emerge gnome after that and be forwarned it takes a LONG TIME. took my friends pc over a day of straight downloading and compiling (it does it on its own) though there is a way to emerge it where it downloads everything first and then compiles it which is best if you dont want it connected to the net for the whole proccess for whatever reason.
