I've installed RH9 and the system log file indicates the Webalizer has been installed. Having set up my website I have had loads of hits and would like to examine the httpd access data with Webalizer. I can't find any referene to it on the Gnome desktop. Could someone please tell me how to get it running and where the documentation for it is.

Many Thanks
Graham. UK

If its already integrated into your site you will usually access it by going to:

http://www.yourdomain.com/wwwstats/

or whatever the webalizer alias is. Your directory to the logs for webalizer is usually something like:

/var/log/webalizer

or there might be a webalizer directory in each of your domains. Sometimes the httpd.conf file will have aliases to the stats with a line like the following:

alias /wwwstats /home/virtual/site5/fst/var/log/webalizer

However if you aren't using any server managers like Ensim, Cpanel, Plesk, etc, then you most likely have to set all that stuff up manually. There is a great deal of information about Webalizer here:

Thanks. Your message gave me the lead I needed. The default URL on RH9 is:

I am planning to setup a webalizer service on a webserver that could provide me with statistics from access log file for another squid proxy server.

Is that possible? and how to do it? at least give me the idea of how it works.

The scenario is something like this...
i have a squid proxy server running on slackware (proxy.my_domain.com). and a web server (apache) running on red hat (http://www.my_domain.com). how can i set up a webalizer service on my web server to provide statistics from the squid access log on the proxy server.

This can be easily solved if i run another apache on the proxy server. But i don't like the idea of burdening my proxy server with any other services.

Any help is much appreciated.

TQ.
