Do you have a specific problem you cannot get past? If you want a general guide on how to install Redhat 9 go here:

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linu ... all-guide/

If you are trying to get past the partition part there is a huge section in that guide that might interest you:

3.19. Partitioning Your System
3.19.1. Graphical Display of Hard Drive(s)
3.19.2. Disk Druid's Buttons
3.19.3. Partition Fields
3.19.4. Recommended Partitioning Scheme
3.19.5. Adding Partitions
3.19.6. Editing Partitions
3.19.7. Deleting a Partition

Yes and yes. Whether you install Windows or Linux you have to have partitions setup for the O/S. To do a dual boot with two different distros all you would do is have seperate partitions on the hard drive. When you install one distro make sure you do not take up all the hard drive space with the partitions so that the other distro has plenty of space for its partitions.

ok last question (i think). if i got like a 5 to 10 gig hard drive, and i was JUST going to installa redhat 9 wouldi have to partition it? or would i just pop the HS in and then boot the disc...blah blah........ and then it is ready. this HD would ONLY have redhat. also do you know anyone who is willing to get rid of a small HD for CHEAP or free ( :D ) (sorry if i sound rude for asking this)

thanks again

If you buy the hard drive, you will still have to format it. If you are only using one os, you won't have to partition it -- formatting it automatically creates a partition, thus you will have on partition for one os (However dont think that by formatting over and over you will get additional partitions. Just saying this for clarity's sake).

Sorry... I know of no one giving away free hdd's.

If you actually read the guide I told you above, that will walk you through everything. Simply follow the guide, there is nothing else you need to do before hand.
