Hello all.

I've got a problem, which I wasn't able to solve yet. I was trying to configure Mu sony vaio laptop, so I could use Mesa 3d support. First I installed a clean full slackware installation, which worked. Later I installed the default XFree which came with the installation.
This did enable Software 3d rendering, But no hardware support.
so, later on I installed MesaLib 5.0.2, which didn't make much difference.
later on I deceided to install the XFree86-driver-ati-4.3.99.5-1.i686.rpm.

This was probably a big mistake, because from this point on when I try to run Kde I get the errormessage No devices detected, and when I browse true /usr/var/XF86config, I see that my display supports none of the dispaymodes (resolution, refreshrate and bitdepth).

Is there anybody who knows how to solve this problem, please contact me, I'll be verry thankfull.
