Hi Team,

I wish to install Linux 8.0 or 9.0 on IBM Xseries 346 server.. I tried doing it by two methods but both the time i got the same error that is harddisk not detected.

Note : Harddisks are Scsi Harddisks

Method one: I had booted the server with RedHat Linux 8.0 directly but it had detecd an error that no harddisks are available.

Method Two: insterted the CD of RAID , created RAID5 .then inserted the CD of RedHat Linux 8.0 The Error was same. No harddisk detected. But in RAID it was showing the HARDDRIVEs.

I searched on internet but of no use..

Kindly help.

Regards,
Kiran

Chances are you need to configure the hardware raid array first, then load Linux.

This is a redbook which details Linux on varied IBM platforms.
