iam new to this forum and linux ....

I am using windows xp and want to install RH as a second os. My disk is partitioned in this manner

160gb-------C:20GB(windows), D:50GB(LOGICAL) ,E:50GB(LOGICAL)...
The remaining 20Gb is unallocated and is left for RH.. i tried to do manual partitioning .After allocating '/' -2gb, /boot-100mb the problem started...

iam getting this wierd error ERROR PARTITIONING:COULD NOT ALLOCATE PARTITOINING....

Surprisingly automatic partitioning is working fine....

can anyone tell me whatz causing the problem...

What distro of RedHat are you using? Perhaps you should try Fedora 8 if you just want to play around with Linux a bit. The installer is pretty straight-forward and should be able to use your free space effectively.
