Need help!
I'm a new user in Linux, and i'm having trouble installing software. any kind! Anything I get from the internet. Just don't know what to do. I get the softs, extract them, but then I get lost. I've tried to do that ./configure stuff but still get some error messenges and nothing is done.

Can anyone help me please?

thankyou

Why don't you use YaST to install the software for you? (Desktop > YaST > Software Management)

If you haven't done so already, you're going to want to add some online repositories to YaST:
http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_ ... positories
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions ... p?t=444755

You also may find YaST to be too slow for your liking, in which case you could install / use SmartPM:
http://wiki.suselinuxsupport.de/wikka.p ... ageManager
http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=20786

If you still can't find the software you'd like to install, what is it? And what are the errors that you're getting?
