I'm trying to install Gentoo with the Universal Install Cd. Whats happening is that while the cd is loading it freezes up at "Coldpluggin pnp devices ...". By freeze I mean it never says [ ok ], and it never goes to the next item. Any ideas or hints.

It's an
eMachines T2882, and currently dualboots OSX, Debian, and XpHome.

I'll try a minimal install cd tonight to see if I can get that working, but any other thoughts are welcome.

Are you sure it's the Universal CD? I have heard of that happening with the minimal install CD....

How exactly do you have OS X installed on an E-Machine? Which boot mgr are you using?

Yeah I'm sure it's the Universal. I forgot to say that I know I can get the SystemRescueCD to work in my original post.

As for booting. I have Grub doing Debian/Windows and then Windows bootloader does Windows/OSX. I'm using the deadmoo iso for OSX.
