Ok, this is my first time installing gentoo and i have the hand book printed out which i am using to install gentoo. When i get to the stage3 installation part it tells me to do the links2 command followed by the address. The problem here is when i type for example: links2 http://google.com a window pops up and says host cannot be found. I was wondering if it is seeing my internet connect. I have a intergraded ethernet card on my motherboard do you think its incompatible. Is there some kind of command i can use to see if it see's my internet connection?

Thx, any help would be appreciated greatly.

try running the network setup.

net-setup eth0

go through that and then see if you can access the net.
